Save Water and Save the World

By: Marrie Sharma
Leonardo da Vinci once said that “ Water is the driver of Nature.” When we speak the word water it seems to be just a five letter word but these five letters equals the value of earths five continents. The life existing in these continents is because of water only. It’s the water which continues the life cycle on earth making us an exception in the whole universe.

Like Leonardo said that water is the driver of nature, it proceeds life forward in the right direction and the worst part is that we never understand its importance. We are like the passenger who is sitting behind in his seat relaxing and never understand the efforts put by the driver to move the vehicle forward. But it’s time for us to understand that life can’t continue without water and we have to save it. It’s our planet, it’s our water and only we are responsible for its conservation.

Like Benjamin Franklin said: “When the well is dry, we know the worth of water.”  Maybe that’s why people in deserted area understand the importance of water who doesn’t even believe in wasting filthy water. As per the survey conducted by United Nation most girls in Rajasthan never went to schools because they are required to fetch water from long distances. These girls walk miles to fetch water which takes their whole day and therefore they have no time to attend  school. In a world where people are dying of drought how could one waste water for their selfish motives.

According to a report by the National Crime Records Bureau, as many as 16,632 farmers, including 2,369 women, killed themselves last year, constituting 14.4% of the total number of suicides in the country. Drought was one of the major cause behind these suicides. So in a country where children can’t go to school and achieve their basic right to education and citizens can’t enjoy their right to live which is not only their right by constitution but also by Gods law of nature, how could we waste water for our fun. The question is who gave us the right to take others rights.

So it’s time to take a pledge and join hands together to save water. Our small efforts can give a big result as they say each drop of water contribute into the formation of ocean. We don’t have to do any extra efforts to conserve water, small acts like closing the tap while brushing or shaving, using bucket instead of shower to bath will be a very big contribution.

So let’s promise to do our bit of effort and help millions of people to get a better life which they deserve. Remember one good deed brings a lot of love and blessing. Let’s try to imitate water for few minutes in our life which serves others and never ask anything in return.

 SAVE WATER: SECURE THE FUTURE!

Picture
Ask a dying man in a hot desert, and he would somehow enable himself to utter, “I wish I could get some water...”

Without being poetic or philosophic, we must realize that ‘water’ which is generally taken for granted might be the most precious commodity in future if we do not mend our ways in the present. Don’t the dead or dying planets in the universe, such as Mars, warn us that there used to be water on those planets once, but now those planets are simply the balls of sand, rocks, and minerals, without any life?

Air and water are the divine life giving gifts by the Mother Nature. Every living creature must essentially consume water for survival. Water, the driving force of all nature, must be considered as something very pious, which must be saved from being wasted.

The crisis of water has become one of the considerable issues that the world is facing at present scenario. Our responsibility is to subsidize for the water management by the wise use of the water. The major problem is not that the people are getting little amount of the water; the major problem is that the people still do not know about the intelligent use of water owing to which every living creature must suffer sooner or later. This shows that our future is under a great threat because of our sloppiness.

There can’t be safe tomorrow if we are not ready to act today. It becomes one of our prime responsibilities to save our precious water supplies. In our daily chores we might have observed that we ourselves forget to turn off the tap early in the morning when we go to freshen ourselves up. We at the moment do not realize that our carelessness might be one of the reasons for the water crisis for the future generation. "Many a drop makes an ocean". Our most small efforts can contribute to the conservation of the water in one or the other way. Each one of us has the ability to make a difference.

The ground water supply is reducing over time. Due to lack of irrigation water, or the mismanagement of water, in India the farmers do the over extraction which is thought to be one of the shocking fact that affects the health of the cultivable agricultural lands. It is essential to adopt several water conservation techniques. It is necessary to launch several intensive awareness campaigns regarding the importance of water and its conservation so that it can make people aware about the wise management of water supply. The unwise use of water is not only the problem for the water crisis but the pollution of the water resources is also a considerable fact which is the reason for the deterioration of the water. So, water should be meticulously harnessed and carefully conserved.

Some of the alterations and the remedial measures can be followed for the conservation of the water:

Installation of the water meter can help you to save water. Growing grass appropriately outside your house or the lawn can be helpful. Keeping your water supplying taps and showers tight and repairing the water leakage can contribute to the conservation of the water. Collect water for re-use anytime you are running the water waiting for particular temperature. Simply run into a bucket, watering can, or pitcher. Several plans, policies and promises are made by the government, several announcements are made on the electronic media but the problem is still the same because we do not make our sincere efforts.

Thus, proper utilization of the water can help in the conservation of the water and the earth.
